OpenAI’s app store for building your GPT is launching next week, as per a recent announcement via the ChatGPT platform. 

Key Points:

  • The GPT Store will offer the ability to build custom apps without requiring any coding experience based on its AI models like GPT-4, and users will be able to build a range of applications, from simple to complex. 

  • The store's announcement initially came during OpenAI's DevDay event (November 6th, 2023), but its launch was delayed due to organizational changes (Altman’s firing & rehiring). 

  • OpenAI spokesperson promises more details next week, as currently there remains uncertainty around any potential revenue-sharing models for GPT Store developers (we fully expect a robust rev share model to be implemented that incentivizes building on their platform). 

The GPT Store could transform the landscape of generative AI app creation, democratizing access to advanced AI technologies, and also changing OpenAI from an AI model provider to a platform-centric company.
