Bitwise Asset Management has launched a new advertising campaign featuring actor Jonathan Goldsmith, known for his portrayal of the Most Interesting Man in the World in Dos Equis beer ads, to promote its spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). The ad, which debuted on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, depicts Goldsmith delivering his signature line, "You know what's interesting these days?" before responding with "Bitcoin."

The add is brilliant.

In the first take you see the CEO of Bitwise Matt Hougan…. but he is not interesting enough.

He is not cool enough...not a cool boomer….we need to hear it from the most interesting man in the world.

What if we get HIM …the wise man….cool, maskuline, powerful….intriguing.

..even the CEO is good enough to deliver the importance of the message… love it.

ONLY…thing… take a look at the woman when the word is mentioned… dont know how this got through the final cut …as it looks like she is grinching when the word bitcoin is said.

Using a know face/commercial:

The commercial features Jonathan Goldsmith, an actor renowned for his role as "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in the Dos Equis beer advertising campaigns.

In the ad, he intriguingly states, "You know what's interesting these days, bitcoin," drawing a parallel between his iconic character and the ‘intriguing’ nature of bitcoin.

This ad represents a significant moment for Bitwise, which is among several firms awaiting approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a spot bitcoin ETF. Unlike larger players in the market, such as BlackRock, Bitwise has a history of offering crypto ETF products.

This is a point of emphasis in the advertisement, with the tagline at the end stating, "ETFs backed by crypto specialists."

The campaign comes as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is expected to rule on a number of spot bitcoin ETF applications soon, with some analysts predicting approval as early as January 2024. If approved, a spot bitcoin ETF would allow investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency without having to buy it directly.

Bitwise is among several firms vying for a spot bitcoin ETF approval, with other notable contenders including Grayscale Investments and Valkyrie Investments. The approval of a spot bitcoin ETF could have a significant impact on the cryptocurrency market, potentially attracting new institutional investors and increasing liquidity.

This commercial launch reflects the growing interest and acceptance of bitcoin in mainstream finance. With its use of a well-known figure in advertising, Bitwise aims to capture the attention of a broader audience, conveying the message that bitcoin are not just niche interests but are becoming increasingly relevant in traditional finance.

First out of many…. BitWise Commercial teasing the upcoming spot Bitcoin ETF.

A word to the wise, from a man of few words.
